2nd July 1944

The Employment Department in Auschwitz II Birkenau transferred 174 Hungarian Jews to Auschwitz III Monowitz. They received numbers A-15857- A-16030. They were examined and pronounced to be healthy by the SS doctors. They went through delousing procedure and were given fresh underwear and clothes. Due to the fact they arrived in the camp when many prisoners suffered from scarlatina and measles, the selected Jews had to go through quarantine that lasted for 21 years.
